I would very much appreciate your opinions on this '77-D Eisenhower dollar, and whether or not it would have a chance at getting a PL designation from NGC. This coin is blindingly reflective like an actual proof Ike, though there is no cameo contrast. It has a liquid metal appearance like nickels from the special mint sets of '65-'67. I have taken multiple shots at different angles for thorough review. Thanks.

Lovely MS, I'm personally not seeing PL. I'm new to this series so I may be under grading this wonderful coin.

Seriously, I have never seen an Ike that reflective. It deserves some sort of designation, in my opinion, and Proof-like is probably it.

Assuming no one messed with the surfaces, and the photos are not juiced, it looks like it is worth submittal. I would think NGC would give PL designations to this series, but not sure about PCGS.

I am not sure PCGS recognizes the possibility on Ikes. Do they?

No, PCGS will not give the PL designation to any Ike dollar. NGC does, and I think ANACS will.

I missed posting this picture originally, but this shot really captures the "fresh texture" appearance.

There is a 1976-D T1 NGC MS64 PL on ebay right now, and I'm adding the pictures here to refer back to for future reference.

And here's a different one I saved pictures of a while back, and they were both in the same submission.

Its a nice coin for sure. I sent this 1978-d into PCGS hoping for a PL but did not get it. At the time I did not know PCGS actually did not name them PL. It did get a MS65 grade though. Its probably the most polished looking IKE I have seen

daviscfad- wowzers! That looks like a "black beauty" Ike. You can immediately tell from the TrueView that it has a PL appearance. Can you show us pictures of the slab? Just curious how it looks at different angles.

OK, guys. So.... I will be sending this to NGC for grading along with a 1971-D T1 Reverse FEV that I believe was struck on a proof planchet. Last night I joined the ANA, so I have direct submission privileges to NGC. I want to gather 10 coins, so I need 8 more. I'll be cherry picking my own inventory to see what I can include. I may ask your opinions on different coins. Stay tuned....
