There's so much going on with this nickel. I can see some ED, especially on a couple of spots on the rim, but what about the digits, and the short black line from Jefferson's pigtail to the edge of the coin?

I used some acetone, but it seemed to have little or no effect.



Is-This-A-1943/2-Nickel?

I don't think you have the Overdate. That peeled flaky metal is a Lamination error.

I don't think so either. There should be an upward spike on the lower tail of the 3. Whatever is there is as E&V said.

Well, I guess that adds to the loveliness of such an already lovely coin. :) Someof these lamination errors do seem to sell for more.

No use making lamentations about the lamination...

There is a much better way to tell on these. There is a flat spot on the lower loop of the '3':

Thanks. It looks like whatever is "different" about the year digits is from lamination errors.
