Hi, A long time ago when I was a teenager I collected Australian pre decimal coins, but only ones I got in change. I ceased when decimal was introduced. The photos are of a 1921/22 threepence that I got in change in about 1963. I would appreciate any comments as to its quality and rough idea of value. At the time that I got it I understood that there were only about 32 known samples of this coin.

Hi Magpiegeorge and welcome to the forum!
I'm no expert but this may give you an indication, if it's genuine, as apparently there are of fakes out there of this coin https://vintagecoinsandbanknotes.co...rce-and-rare

This date tends to be in poor grade so I'd say its average.
One in similar grade sold for $2600 plus buyer fees at Nobles in 2017.

Hi, Thanks for the fast response and the welcome. I am pretty sure it would not be a fake as it has been in my hot little hands since 1963 and I doubt that fakes were around then. You can see from the damage to it that it had plenty of use in circulation, and as I got it in change it did not come from a seller. Total cost to me was 3 pence! I can assure you that I held on to it quite tightly until I got home.

Not too sure what to look for re fakes but at a glance it looks okay to me.
