Is it a limitation of the "standard forum search" and the "search this forum" that you can not search for the slash (/) character?

I use a lot of dates, like 2/2, and I can't search for them because the searches ignores the slash character.

Most searches anywhere ignore special characters. Searches in a database this big (Over 8GB) are very resource intensive already, that would just add to it.

Did you try checking off exact phrase or using quotes?

Exact phrase makes no difference

Using quotes, for example, "2/2", throws an error message

(I have the same problem when I search for ebay usernames containing certain special characters, * (asterisk) comes to mind.)

I was just asking in case it was a known limitation, and apparently it is.
