I spotted a supposedly unrecorded coronation Half Tram on a coin sales site. It really intrigued me. I picked up my, recently acquired, copy of Bedoukian, and had a look at the issues of Levon I. Yes it wasn't listed. Then I read some of the commentaries. The double lions seen on the advertised half tram don't match the single lion reported by Bedokian for Coronation coins. The possibility still intrigued me as that "half tram" reminded me of a Venetian Grosso.

I then went through the plates of Levon I and noticed that the advertised coin was very much like the centre of a full Tram. For those who have Bedokian look at Levon I, page V( of the plates) coin 88 (note the three dots under the lions). So my suspicion is the half tram is a clipped full tram. What do others think?

Apparently, a link to that sales site is not allowed on here. Here is a copy of the image for the "coin in Question: It is described as "CILICIAN ARMENIA AR HALF TRAM of LEVON I 1.1 GR & 14,60 MM UNPUBLISHED and EXTREMELY RARE"

I would agree that it's clipped the legends have been removed. The average size and weight of a tram is 22mm x 3.0g, your coin is close to what a 1/2 tram would be.
