Different forms of die chips and filled dies in different locations.The most well known one is your last coin with the die chip in between the B and I of the LIBERTY hence nickname BIE.

I could be wrong, but the 1955-D might be a re-punched mint mark. Looks like 002 on copper coins perhaps.
