Hey everyone. Looking for some help on the coin in the pix

Half of the column is missing with several die cracks, hopefully, evident in my scrappy phone pictures. On the obverse, there is extra thickness in one of the 9's with die scratches (I'll post pic on request). Not enough to get excited over but what the heck? I've always heard of one side errors but not both. The coin has been well preserved but didn't notice reverse until today.

Any ideas?

The reverse column appears to be missing, caused by Over Polishing of the die. It was probably an isolated polishing to get rid of a Die Clash or something. http://www.error-ref.com/thinning-a...gn-elements/

Thank you very much. The link was helpful. I didn't know die polishing could be targeted to one specific area.

You're very welcome. Coop taught me that. He said that die polishing can happen in one area only.

Couch potato is correct.

I'm leaning for a very strong Grease Fill? Note column #11? Note how it is wider? Typpe sign for a stuck through grease error. I've not seen see a fill this strong before. But I've never seen that much of a die polishing. If it were die polishing the tops of the devices would still be present, but thinner, not wider.
