Hello I found this coin sorting the coins I have. How do I know if this is natural toning. Also, is it just me or are the lettering are extra thick? Thank you for any input.

The letters are normal in size. The toning could have been caused by many different ways. Probably must likely caused by improper storage. On the reverse, that white stuff is zinc rot setting in on the rim. It's eating away at the zinc core.

Thank you Errers and Varietys. Too bad for the zinc rot, I am learning a lot though.

Could it be that the lettering 'looks' extra thick because it's a really new, sharp die?
Is there such a thing as EDS (Early Die State)?
