Hello all,

I have a few loose Silver Eagles that have the white or "milk" spots on them. Is there any way to clean these to remove the white spots? These coins are being kept as investment bullion only and will not be graded, so dont think I'm trying to clean them up to fool someone I dont mind toning on these, I just hate the white spots.

As much as I hate to recommend it, if you only want them for bullion investment purposes, a dip in E-Z-Est should remove the milk spots.

I don't think that there's anything out in the market that is able to solve this problem so far. I think one of the TPG's is offering $50,000 if someone is able to solve this problem. I was able to get some to disappear off of mine, but I just left in alone for a few months near a window. Don't really know what happened, but I'm happy.

Like biokemist6 said, you could experiment around with some cleaners but if they are bullion only, I wouldn't worry too much unless they are huge spots.

I promise, scouts honor, that this coin is going in my investment pile. I would never in any way clean a collectible coin (except for maybe a quick dip in acetone)

I will try a few of your ideas and report back if anything works..
