My wife brought me this after an extended stay in Japan. It looks absolutely pristine. I think I will see if I can get some more of these, the design is beautiful:

It is indeed Meiji 28, but that's 1895.

It worries me, though. At the least, it looks like it may have been dipped or otherwise polished/buffed. The surfaces don't seem natural. The worst case is it being fake. Make sure it meets specs.
