Hello all. My son has started collecting Peace dollars. I'm not very knowledgeable on these. I came across a 1923 ms61 VAM 3 Peace dollar for 35.00 is that a fair price for this coin? Any help greatly appreciated

If it's one of these -- https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...verse/133760 -- $35 is a good price (judging from previous sales shown). I'd confirm the PCGS number 133760 on the slab to make sure we're talking about the same variety. As with any coin, eye appeal is another consideration so if there's excessive toning or distracting marks, that can affect the value.
Rest in Peace

It seems like a good price to me. This seems like it would be a popular variety based on the spread of the DDR regardless of the current population of 20 in the SSDC registry.

Would it happen to be a VAM-3A with the radial die crack between the 9 and 2? That would add more WOW factor for me..

and to CCF!

For some reason, I thought the OP said it was PCGS -- that's an NGC holder, so you can't do a direct comparison to the link I provided. Still seems like a fair price though.

Thank you all for the responses. This is the very first pre 1945 coin that my son is adding to his collection
I figure its a good start to be in the top 50 club

For the price I would jump on it for my collection. Nice coin IMHO, NGC number on it shows front and back.
