Totally understand the coffee. My wife knows what I'm talking about when I beg for some elixir of life!

There are claims to genuine one-sided woodies, though I have never seen one. But surely this dismal thing is not one of them.

Well I'm at work & cant do anything with it until later tonight. Suggestions as to what I can do to confirm this is or is not a stain?. Which for now, I don't think it is & appears I'm fighting an uphill battle. Scuff the edge with sandpaper?

If you zoom in on the pictures it looks exactly like what a sharpie would leave on it in my opinion. Even if it is a woody it wouldn't add any value to the coin at this point unfortunately. We'll let you know if you find a real one though.

Quote: Scuff the edge with sandpaper? Your coin is already in kinda bad shape with the graffiti, but I definitely wouldn't sand it.

There is nothing wrong with setting a coin aside till you acquire a more experienced eye. I have boxes of stuff that I revisit occasionally. Sometimes I can cull stuff for a spender ,other times I am surprised with what I put away

Some more, hopefully clearer pics showing this is not a stain but in the metal. Now this may not be a true woody, fine, but something odd happened with this planchette. Thanks for looking.
