New here, hello.

I was given a stronge box of my fathers who pasted 15 years ago. It had coins that he had collected over the years. Mostly common older coins, several forieign coins.

Something that really was odd a 1953 stike error penny. Just the corner of a copper round slug is stamped showing the bottom portion with the date.

Will be inventorying the collection, then will be seeking advice of what to do with the collection.

Looking for information on this type of strike error for now.

That's known as an Off Centre Strike as the planchet was
not fully injected when it was struck.
Having the date on it makes it even more desirable although
it is hard to see as the photo is blurry.

Seems to be an off center or off center with indent strike. Clear images of obverse and reverse may tell more. Thanks, Doug.

To CCF! It was Struck Off Center. It's a very nice error coin.
