Today I pulled out my special mint sets and couldn't find a value for the 1964. Read some other posts on this topic and thought I'd share this for your comments. All the coins in this set have the same finish(which is different from the finish of the proof/mint sets in cellophane and I've included a picture for comparison) and all the coins in the SMS have squared outer rims. If I decide to send these coins in for grading what is the best way to get them out of the box?
You have a 1964 mint set and a privately put together 64 set . These are not SMS ,if they were they would be of much better quality close to proofs . I would not advise you to send any of those coins in unless you post photos of the coin/s so we can let you know if they are candidates for TPG'ing .
These are not SMS coins. Should be able to open the plastic case with your fingers along the edge. I would not recommend opening the cellophane package, however.
