This is what I know: The inscription On the Obverse reads "MARGRUM REGINA PGRATIA" and the Reverse reads "MARGRUM REGINA PORTUGALI". The coin copper, and is the same size as a silver dollar, but about as thin as a dime.
Queen Margaret of Portugal was born in 1584 and married Filipe II in 1599. She either died or ceased to be queen in 1611.
What I don't know is this a medal or currency. Maybe a commemorative of her coronation or marriage with Filipe II.
Any help with more information would be appreciated, including it's value

First impression is that this does not look right to me for a bronze or copper coin/token from around 1600. Especially one so large.

Might it pertain to the reign of Maria in the 1790s?

I doubt it's a coin because there's no date or denomination. She became Queen of Portugal when she married in 1599 so this object was most likely produced in the 1600s, aka the 17th century.

What's perplexing to me is that this style of cartouche around the Portuguese shield is not used on coins until the late 1600s, long after the dates for Margaret.

I believe this is a flipover double strike of a Maria I piece.

I think MARGRUM is actually MARIA over ALGARBIORUM

Wow! I wish I could think of possibilities like that.

That would explain I GRATIA insted of DEI GRATIA, and the absence of ALGARBIORUM in the normal legend.

Brilliant!

And the dimensions probably make it a 10 Reis coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces29735.html
