I thought they only made $5 Roos for a couple of years in the early 1990's?

I am not aware of any $5.00 roos in silver for 2004. The only 5 dollars in silver Roo is the one from the Masterpieces in Silver set of the Port Phillip Patterns but that was issued in 2003.

Any chance of asking him/her for a scan

Terry...I think the Aussie coins you are refering to are the Kookas of 1990 and 1991...the 1oz Kookas has a nominal face value of $5.00, this was change to $1.00 from 1992.

The only 2004 roo I can think of was in the 2004 they got the year right the masterpieces in silver had an additional roo coin scalloped edges.
But alas unless someone thinks Phar lap looks like a roo, I am puzzled about his $5 coin?

RG....the scalloped coin in the 2004 MIS has a face value of $1.00. I had a quick look through both Maccas as well as Renniks and I don't think we have any silver $5 Roos minted.

Finally got a clarification

"It's not a $5 Coin, it's the $1 that you already have. The term '5
Roo' just differentiates it from the MM Dollars that tend to
overshadow our generic Dollar."

As a newcomer to the Aussie coins I have seen the designation on ebay calling the generic dollar the "5 Roos" dollar. All they really have to do is say $1 Roo and Silver Roo which pretty much sums up which is which!

Among collectors downunder, our generic circulating non commemorative dollar coin is affectionally refered to as the "Mob of Roos"...
