Hey there,

New poster here recently started getting into collecting coins.

I am looking to purchase the below coin, however wanted any opinions whether it is genuine or not? I know that it is impossible to tell for certain via photo, however wondered if anyone with a better knowledge than myself could help.

Thank you in advance.

I can tell you for certain that it is a fake!
The distorted end to the cross at 3 o'clock on the reverse along with the fault in the field at 8 o'clock are characteristic of a well documented fake abounding on ebay at present.

... and by the way it is a sixpence, whatever the seller may call it.

Article here discusses it in more detail:

Buy from a reputable dealer and even more so if your not sure about the coin.
Yes you may pay a bit more but atleast you will be buying what you want and not some RANG of ebay.

Interesting:
I note the photos at the head of this topic are exactly the same as the ones at the head of the Predecimal.com link I posted above. Stans, who uploaded them to Pre-D, said he had received the coin as a gift. It was later returned to the seller for a refund.
