You don't say where your from but you would probably
have to purchase them through a dealer if they have any.

-that's a good question considering most dealers sell mostly older paper banknotes. "Jimmy D" ask you where you're from (Canada is a big country) but I thought I'd tackle this question as the "Canadian Bank Notes & Paper Money" thread has been pretty quiet for some time. This info is good for GTA and Ontario mostly. If you live elsewhere, I suggest you google "coin store" in the nearest big city to where you live (otherwise- stick to online searches).

First, if I were searching for solids (of any kind) I'd be checking ebay.
Next, you could try the shows:
Torex is at the Hyatt Regency in Toronto (June 29/30) There are many dealers at these shows so you should go early and ask around (they usually know who has the best stock of banknotes).
You can also check out Geoffrey Bell Auctions http://auctions.gbellauctions.com/auctionlist.aspx
Their first auction is May 2nd.

For GTA Coin stores, check this thread:
http://goccf.com/t/312551&SearchTerms=store
-most of these dealers typically have an online presence as well.

You could also check: Canadian Coin News https://canadiancoinnews.com
for more information on local shows & dealer info.

Troll through ebay and public auction offerings.
Some dealers do both.

I'm lucky enough to work at a currency exchange so I have lots of cash to go through every day and have found a few near solid Canadian and American bills recently. Last one was a Canadian 20 with serial 6000000. Still no solids though in 7 months of working there.

A 6-million number note is pretty awesome to find in the wild!
I hope you held on to it :)

Unfortunately money has been pretty tight for me lately so I listed it on ebay and actually got a pretty good ROI. I find them fascinating when I find them, but am not particularly concerned about keeping them, I'd rather someone else have them that has that interest in serial numbers.

Well, the next time you get a fancy serial number, please post here first. You have plenty of buyers and do not have to pay ebay fees.

@sergiomomesso that auction site gets some pretty crazy prices. I have bookmarked a few. items in this auction. In the past I have never been able to get a note because the prices usually go for above book value.

Some of the BV has not changed in 10 years, the markets do speak, they are today's value except a few odd error notes that sort of defies logic

Book Value for fancy serial numbers bear little correlation with market value. For solid radars, they are always above BV. It is very difficult if not impossible to get one for BV, or even close to one.
