I have this 1979 Lincoln no mint mark. You'll see areas of the rim that are kind of pushed inwards. Along the edge in these areas I believe I can see letters along the edge of the coin in these places. On the face of the coin the words "We Trust" look to be flattened but are still visible. Under Lincoln's portrait there is either a doubling or the rim of the coin or a crease. On the reverse side above the U in "United" looks to be another U or a D. Above the o in "of" it looks like another D. Also above the C in "AMERICA" looks like a partial letter. Hopefully my pics are clear and helpful. Let me hear your thoughts please.

Most definitely not an error. PMD
No way that was done during the minting of the coin.

PMD. My Lord. Someone went after that poor LMC with a hatchet or something.

To CCF! Definitely not an error coin at all. Just a heavily damaged coin with Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Value is only face value at this point.

to the Forum,

Signs of a frustrated individual taking it out on a Penny! I agree with above, plain damaged coin.
