Such a marvelous RPM to have someone come along and seemingly clean the coin with steel wool. Just kinda cruel.

Still a nice RPM. You'd think as many D's as I see I'd have found more RPMS than what I do. But then again, I'm just starting to train my eye for them.

how can you tell this coin was cleaned?...How to spot a cleaned coin would make a good topic for us new folks.

Very good topic indeed. In hand this thing shows all kinds of scratches. Upon close inspection they are incuse, so it is damage and not an overly abraded die. They show up in the close up of the date. Otherwise, looking at full coin images can be quite tough to spot cleaned coins and hopefully someone skilled at that art will chime in.
