Hello all! New to the coin community and wanted some pro advice on a 1980 Penny I found that is in really great condition. I've found that even though there's no apparent errors, the penny could still be of value due to the condition it's in, wasn't too sure so I figured I'd look to some higher knowledge than myself and YouTube ha!

..... First please rotate and crop your pics, it's hard to turn my monitor the right way to see them. From your pics I would say MS64 if you are thinking of big return on this coin don't, it's very common.

Before uploading your images make sure to crop them closer to the coins edges. That will make it easier to see what you have. For the age the coin looks nice. Just a few contact marks on it. But the ones worth a lot more money are the BU coins in higher grades. The obverse on your coin is a more desirable die state. The reverse die is a bit older. It is always nicer to have the images on the site horizontal. So if your using a phone to take images take them horizontal with the button the right side. If you can edit images that is even better. You can crop out the stuff not needed and with most software programs you can rotate the images to make the horizontal. I noticed that on you images the coins images are oval shaped. This happens when you take your images are too much of an angle. The coin would be a nice hole filler in a album until you find a nicer one and probably then I would keep it in a 2X2 so bad things doesn't happen to it.

Here is a classic example where I have to differ with my fellow community members . Because you found this nice red example in the wild , me being a purist has to call it AU-58+ . Some will agree to my non popular calls , but the consensus on your kind of finds seems mostly for an MS attribute . Take as you wish, just don't send it in .

I have recently been going through an unsearched 5 gallon bucket of Lincoln cents estimated at 10-12 thousands cents. I'm finding something very odd. With a few exceptions, MOST of the 1980 cents are in excellent condition with most all original gloss. I can't figure out how that happens. I started dropping cents into a 5 foot long 4" Piece of PVC pipe, that I had capped on the bottom, and started filling when I moved into my current house in 2001. I finally filled the tube this past November, and started the so far almost 3 month search of the coins. I've found a few keepers many Wheats. Sure has been fun.
