I was just wondering does anyone collect us mint die sets. I bought two of them back in 1999 when they first starting selling them thought they would be neat to have a few to show people. I don't know if many people collect them or not.

I bought the Indiana Statehood Quarter die but was very disappointed when I found out the mint completely destroys the image. It is a neat keepsake but don't see much value in having any more unless I could get my paws on some of the old classic dies! Those would be KEEPERS! (If the mint left something you could make out!)

The Mint used to just deface the design image but you could see the original design under the scratches. I think this was a much better practice. Once they started obliterating the image, I think interest waned somewhat.
Rest in Peace

I have two. They were gifts. So, I gues I can't really say I collect them.
