The G has taken a hit. It is either RDV-005 or RDV-006. Based on the "A" in America, I'm leaning toward 006. If so, this is the secomd decent coin found 9 rolls into this box.

If you could, take another pic closeup without the glare of the FG.

The initials look a little too far away from the memorial to be a 006

It's RDV-005. You can tell by the distance of the F from the memorial building. The RDV-006 is much closer than RDV-005. I feel like it shouldn't be called a WAM in PCGS because Both RDVs have a Wide AM. It should be a simple Reverse die variety designation in my opinion. It would be a much clearer way to put it. Again, just my opinion.

If the 'FG' is weak then it is probably a RDV-005. I've yet to see a 1988 cent RDV-006 with a weak 'FG'. All the weak ones were the retiring 005's.

Thanks. It was hard to tell because the G had taken a hit and was obscured. I was going by the A. Guess I'll keep looking.

When looking at the "A" in America, what am I looking for?

And which "A", first or last?

thanks

I was looking at how skinny the "A" was in the first A in America, especially the left side of the A. The 005 looked fatter, as did the 007. It just looked like the 006, but the FG is the real teller to the type, and the G was pretty beat up. I definately defer to the experts. Hope does seem to make one see whatis not there.
