Hello. I live in Dubai, am new to collecting. My wife inherited some old coins from her step father. I have attached an image of some from Ceylon (Sri Lanka)

G'day, Muks! to the CCF!

British Empire coins of this period can make for an interesting collection.
The 50 Cents of Ceylon was the largest silver denomination.

Don't recall having seen another coin that is 55% silver. Seems like it is making extra work for the mint(s).

I did notice the diffence in metal used. It is the latest of the coins dated 1929. I assumed it had been changedat some point to the silver one.
