Today, the only large free-ranging herds of the European bison are in Poland and Belarus. It had been hunted to extinction about 100 years ago, but captive specimens were used to re-populate the species. Report this Post to the Staff

I have been to a bison ranch and been fortunate enough to ride through a bison herd. The beauty and power of these animals is amazing. I am trying to put together every coin from around the world with a bison on it. Finding more than I thought existed. It will take a while, but I think it's worth it! Report this Post to the Staff
