It's hard to see from the picture but it looks stained in those areas, along with dings from circulation.

I would agree with being stained, but of the 1973's that I have like this, the staining is all identical coloring (Toning). I thank everybody for your input.

What Lamination? Where is it? You need to be way more specific in your posts.

The 3 in the date appears to have slight MD. If you are referring to the spots on Lincolns head, one is his ear, the other is his hair. Overall the coin is stained in both cases.
