while coin roll hunting today ran across this 1993 D penny that looks like DDR but I'm a newbie and have been wrong well lets just say I'm 0 for 15 lol. hopefully today I can one in the win colomn

During circulation the zinc cent devices can be flattened. That is what you are seeing. Look for the devices altered/enlarged for doubled dies.
