I received a nickel in change. To me it looks like it wasn't stamped correctly. Doesn't look altered. Anyone have any info on this? Have you seen this before? Stuck in machine or die error? What's it worth? Can't make out date 100% but wanna say 2016p

Sorry, not an error, just damage. PMD
Looks like both sides have been ground down.
It is only an error if it happens during the striking
of the coin, anything that happens after that is damage.

To CCF! It's just a heavily damaged coin with Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Not an error. It's a spender unfortunately.

If it was ground down then how is it you can see the house on back and just about everything on front? What's the thickness of a nickel I'll mic it.
