I keep two Jefferson nickel albums, one for full steppers, another for eye appeal which often means a good strike plus few hits. The three I posted today are from the eye appeal album. This 1941 received a good strike even though the dies are showing some wear, and it's not full step.
Later I plan to post a few full-steppers that don't have the eye appeal of this 1941. I have a few from the 1950s on which the strong strike is limited to the steps while the lettering is mushy. For eye appeal I prefer crisp lettering.
