Both of these are really nice Morgan dollars! I had to adjust for the weird blue lighting but the details are clear. 1878-S MS64 PL, well struck with usual light roller marks and light die polishing lines. My favorite of the two. 1904-O MS64, minor scratch below eye and chatter in right obverse field between M and cap holds it out of a 65 imo

I can't see the coins very well but the 1904-S appears to have a very weak strike from the look of the hair above the ear. Both coins appear to have nice luster.
Beyond that, I can't tell much from these picture.

Thanks. I just realized that the flip is colored slightly blue (Safe-T) which is why the color is darker & tinged blue. I will not photo in the flips anymore.
Would any of you slab MS64's? Probably makes them easier to sell in the future.

I suggest you post better pictures of the 1878 S. If you can get a concensus on here about obtaining a PL designation, then I would personally slab that coin. Otherwise, its roughly $80 to get two coins slabbed, and you can get a nice morgan for that. Auction results for PL coins fetch a significant premium when compared to auction results for MS coins. If you follow those two links, you'll see the priceguide lists an MS64 at $120, and a PL64 at $225 (which are typically inflated). The actual auction results don't quite reflect those prices, but you get a good idea.

The '78-S might be a candidate for a bulk submission but it's a tough call with these images through the flip. The 04-O I wouldn't bother with unless the surfaces are more mint fresh than they appear. Another factor to consider is original purchase price versus potential value when TPG graded. If you're not looking at least a $50 increase it may be best to keep them raw from a financial standpoint.

I can see grading the 78-S the 1904-0 is BU but softly struck and Ms62 at best.
