1978 LMC D, Not Sure What Happened Here, If It's An Error, Damage, Or Man M

I've never seen anything like it. It looks like legit gold in person. It's the correct thickness, diameter, and weight (3.06). It doesn't feel like its painted, its not sticky, I can't see any cracking or peeling, it seems solid. The rim doesn't seem abnormal at all either. Its not magnetic. I've tried looking all over to find anything like this but I've been stumped, aside from the color it just has the wierd texture, but what I find strange is the texture is not on any part of the rim st all, just the 2 sides. Also if you look at "one cent" despite the texture it looks to me like it was punched a few times, but I'm usually wrong. Let me what you think.

Loojs like it's been heated. It's not an error. It's Post Strike Damage ( PSD).
