Is there a site that analyzes why gold and silver performed as they did on a daily basis? Today, at this moment, gold and silver are down significantly and I don't see a reason why.

it's because because the market is heavily manipulated, paper-wise. As long as that's the case, it will never make sense.

I also think gold, silver prices are manipulated by the big traders, using short, long techniques like stocks with thousands of ounces on paper traded quickly to make money. I think this happens more often in todays computer age than when the Hunt bros. cornered the silver market around 1980. I'm very bad at trying to time the market. As usual, I bought twenty ounces of silver bullion and a 1/2 ounce gold eagle Tuesday only to watch prices drop by the end of the week. Coulda shoulda waited but I got my tax return and wanted to buy.

I see gold and silver as commodities and prefer to buy and sell paper contacts over physical because it's important to buy and sell often, IMO.

Nothing wrong with making money in precious metals, stocks as a day trader on a computer. I'm just a coin/bullion collector and don't have a clue about how to do that. I'd likely loose my shirt. I do invest in stock/bond mutual funds.

I think big traders can influence the markets. I recall watching an interview with Warren Buffet where he said he is careful about buying/selling stocks because he deals in such high volume it can change the stock price too much in one day.

Paper traders control metals prices. It goes where they want it to.
