Well I picked up some Roman Republic Denarii awhile back ago (all four for under $80). I don't know much about republican coinage, so they are all anonymous to me.

However, my friend had an unidentified Quinarius mistakenly sold to him as a denarius. So I traded one of the denari for it. After some research, it looks like I now have a scarce Mark Antony Quinarius

Mark Antony AR Quinarius. 40-39 BC. IIIVIR R P C, diademed and veiled head of Concordia right / M ANTON C CAESAR, clasped hands holding caduceus.

Struck to commemorate the reconciliation between Antony and Octavian which took place in Brundisium in 40 BC..

Well done, TC. Congrats. Is your friend now aware of what he just traded to you? Any regrets on his part?

Bob, I haven't told him yet, I don't think he'll care much as he's not a serious collector. He actually picked this one up at an antique store and didn't pay much for it. He likes to show them to his students. So I'm going to give him a few of my doubles in order to build up his collection. I have a Commodus, Marcus Aurelius, Licinius, and quite of few of the Constan_ _ _ somethings or another.... picked out already. All are F to VF -

The RPC is a dead giveaway - III VIR R P C is a long winded way of saying 'Triumvirate' - Octavian, Antony and Lepidus, so always something good! During the 1st triumvirate (Crassus, Caesar and Pompey), Pompey also used a similar legend, but I'm not sure Crassus or Caesar ever issued such a type.

Interesting type too - even though his name comes second, it was apparently issued by Octavian.
