Been after one of these for quite a while. This very cool variety comes to me as an assisted cherrypick from a good friend who is beyond sharp to see this one from an
ebay photo. As always, huge thanks to those who help me score some of the rare stuff as it is much appreciated.
This coin is PCGS slabbed and graded MS-62BN, but the RPM is of course not listed on the slab. May have to submit this one for that, but since remarkably this double inverted S isn't a
CherryPickers' Guide variety I am not sure if they would put it on the label or not. Probably have to call and find out first, although ANACS would do it, and this would be TOP POP for this RPM with them. I have the ANACS 1946 Inverted S ANACS TOP POP in my collection, so might make a nice pair just to go with ANACS for this one as well.
Anyway, super cool variety although it's not a monster S/S to look at. Die markers are a die crack from the rim to the lower left wheat, and remnants of a die clash above LIBERTY on the obverse. I would place this at Stage B as the clash is still pretty visible and should be gone by Stage C.
