I won a gold nugget from the Perth Mint and it was sent Fed-Ex. 2 weeks after receiving the package, I get a letter from Fed-EX with a duty & tax invoice for $41.61 The package had a declared value of $893 and was taxed at a rate of 4.1% for a total of $36.61 and then Fed_Ex charges you $5, because they advanced the money to pay the fee so I would get timely delivery.
