Going through my dimes last night and almost tossed this into the spenders pile. Thought I was looking at a scratch on the reverse but then flipped it over and noticed letters coming off of Roosevelt's forehead. The letters near the head appear to be from a reverse and what I thought was a scratch on the reverse is a perfect silhouette of Roosevelt's head. Doesn't come out so clear in the photo but in hand, it is strong.

I'm going to guess at how this dime was made but would like to hear from others who have seen similar. I think the dies slapped into each other and embedded their images into each other. If that is what happened, there must be more like this one out there. Yes/No?

Looks like you have a die clash from what I can see. There is probably more out there considering that the die might have struck more coins before they caught it. It`s a nice example of a die clash though. I would keep it. Nice find!

Yes nice die clash. Worth saving in a 2x2 I think.
