Pretty confident the doubling on the letters is Machine Doubling, but I'm curious about possibilities of the mint mark being repunched.

There sure is something there at the 'D' - repunched? I don't know enough about repunches to attest to that. Also that is one heck of pic at that level of a zoom!

Not a bad picture at all:-)

The coin however, shows Machine Doubling damage on the lettering and the "D".
