I had a friend give me a heads up on a cherry pick and this 1909 P LWC was up for auction. Not sure if the seller knew what he had because they listed it as a 1909 P LMC. When I looked I realized what it was pretty much as soon as I saw it. It wasn't the plain version but a 1909 P LWC DDO-002 FS-1102 stage C. I bid 8 dollars and won this beautiful cent. It has a little MD on the reverse to boot. I have the 1909 S VDB and now this one. I hope someday to ascertain the 1909 P DDO-001 and this little set will be complete.

Thanks John1 and E&V. I think this may be worth a little more than the 8 dollars I spent on it.

The clue for this one being a DDO-002?
1909-P-LWC-DDO-002-FS-1102
The Zero on the date. You can't always go by the die chips on LIBERTY. There is another die out there that has chips on the letters. But the zero won't lead you wrong.

Here is one that is not the DDO-002 with the die chips on LIBERTY, but is not a close match.

PCGS graded this one as the real deal, but it is not.

Note how the doubling on the zero is missing. Probably graded it by the die chips on LIBERTY.

So when buying a slabbed coin, buy the coin and not the plastic. Someone is going to be mad when they find out their guaranteed PCGS coin, is not the DDO.

I think I'd be a little upset over that I'm sure.
