1979 Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC / Brass? (Wrong Planchet?)

I got this coin back with change from a purchase I made at a convenience store and it stood right out amonst the other change. My guess is that it is made of brass but then again it is just a guess because actually I do not have a clue. It weighs 3.1 grams. If it was, then the weight wouldn't be the same. The weight for your coin is correct and well within the U.S Mint tolerances. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff
Skippy72 Valued Member United States 447 Posts	Posted 03/07/2019 10:53 pm In regards to thinking it may possibly be on a foreign planchet, some countries coin were of the same side and weight as ours. For example, Panama (except the 2 1/2) and Liberia in the 60's. Ofcourse this 1979 cent doesn't fall in that time frame, but I was thinking anything may be possible.
