Obverse..IMP C MAXENTIVS PF AVG, laureate head right.
Reverse..CONSERV VRB SVAE, Roma seated front, head left, shield at her side, within hexastyle temple, holding globe and sceptre, wreath in pediment, knobs as acroteria.
Mintmark RBS. RIC VI Rome 210; Sear 14987.

Spectacular portrait! More and more I am coming to appreciate the coinage of Maxentius. He led quite and interesting reign, and his coinage I think reflects that.

Legend not quite all there, due to slightly off center, but otherwise sharp, even strike.
Very close to 'as struck', with a rich patina.
Just imagine what it would have looked like, when it was freshly minted !

There is an eerie story about this coin....I was searching for this same type coin on vcoins one evening when there was a knock at my door and a good friend, who dabbles in ancients, had just received a batch of Roman bronzes and wondered if I was interested in the OP coin as he had it doubled...35 euros and it was mine.....Strange but true!
