Looks plated and has two additional dates /1960/1985/
What is this supposed to signify?

JFK-With-Addition

It's a counter stamp, not sure what the significance of the dates are. 25th anniversary of something? Is this a coin you have or something you stumbled across for your error album?

Just noticed this for sale for a rather outrageous $10. However, since I haven't seen such coins before, I would like to know something about them.. Maybe someone will recognize this counterstamp.
Rest in Peace

From the Wikipedia;

Q: What is the value of a Commemorative Double dated 1960-1985 Kennedy half dollar covered in 24KT Gold in original packaging?

A: The double date and the gold plate were added by a private company, making this a novelty item -- value is maybe a couple dollars as such.

So I guess it's the anniversary of Kennedy's inauguration?

Also thought about it being the inauguration.
Anyway, thanks for explaining the item. So it's actually plated it's not a faulty photo. Yuk.

They are all jealous of your finding you know. What you have there is one of those coins made at our Mint right after they were notified about a raise in pay. The Mint people order out booze and have a party. Eventually they start putting all kinds of stuff on coins and saying just wait until those coin collecting nuts try to figure this one out. Then before they sober up the coins are distributed to us.
Other strange effects on coins are from when they Mint workers are informed of another stupid baby dollar coin assuring more overtime. Sometimes drumk for days after that.
