Without seeing a complete image of this coin, I'm going out on a limb and saying what you're seeing is zinc rot.

Possibly PMD that coincidentally looks like a letter? Could we see full pics of both sides of the coin, please.

Looks to me like a zinc bubble that has burst.
In any case it is still PMD

Seems to small to be a 'G'. It maybe just a damaged area on the fields.
