1994 D RD Lincoln Penny With Aluminum / Zinc Exposed Next To Lettering.

The Aluminum/Zinc exposed next to the lettering / numbering as pointed out in the picture above. What is this called and does it increase the value as an Error or devalue the coin? However, because the underlying zinc core is more reactive, it means that this cent will be nothing but dust at some point. I was thinking about sending it to get graded just for the heck of it. Putting in an air tight case will stop the "dust" possibility right? Report this Post to the Staff
