Not an error, just damage. PMD
It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the
coin and there is no way that damage happened then.

check under "US Coin Facts" on the sidebar.
That information on all US coins is listed there.

Gotcha it says it should weigh 2.5 grams. Weighed it this morning my scale shows This one weighs 1.61 grams..
