Hi I'm hoping for an opinion on grading a 2002 P Jefferson nickel and why the mintmark is slanted? Is the slant an error or normal? Also Do you think the coin is worth sending in for an official Grade? As always thank you very much for your knowledge and your help!

The slant is due to Die Deterioration, as for grade 65FS sounds right

I don't see an abnormal "slant" on the mintmark. It is an integral part of the die's design, so it should always present in the same way. I don't see any significant Die Deterioration effects, either.

As far as grade, it looks nice but the pics are small so the best I would say is MS65. As far as Full Steps, the pic isn't clear enough to make a determination.

In any case, it is not worth submitting for grading. Only an MS68 score or higher would warrant it for this coin, and this is not close to that.

65, I can't see the step detail in this pic.
