AU - Details Polished. Wouldn't pay $20 for this one. I think this year would have to have a good shot at 66 before I'd consider sending in.

Something bugging me, as I messed up when I first posted the pictures. The washed out pictures were taken from the original ebay sale site.

I read what the moderator said about uploading the pictures, and using the optimizer, and followed the instructions.

I want to make sure were all on the same page, these are the pictures I took, are the opinions based on the washed out grey original pictures, or the ones that I took?

One last thing, I checked it for cart wheel luster, and it goes around strong. Which I could post a video lol, Guess this will be the test.

I'm probably stupid, but I'm going to send it in anyways. I'll post back the results, when it flops, it will be a good instructional thread, call it my contribution to science. Lol, I'll post back, when it makes it back.

Thanks all, I appreciate the input!

Looking forward to what they say, keep us informed. The above pics look pretty nice to me, if has cartwheel, easily mid/upper MS.

Id take another set, but it's already on the way to PCGS, the original ebay pictures posted are similar to the ones the do with trueview, and thats why I posted them first, everyone said they were washed out so I took these. Did the cart wheel thing and just chanced it.

It really isn't that much of a gamble because the voucher was going to expire, so were just talking about shipping, and a really good lesson learned LOL, but thanks for looking.

I believe there is a trace of wear on the cotton bolls, lower hair and above the ear, and the eagle claws on the reverse. I still don't see much luster on the additional photos. I doubt it's polished, just dipped. Hope I'm wrong and you get a good grade. Good luck!

I will be interested to see how it comes back. With the last pics you posted, it makes the coin seem even more flat with no mint luster. Luster doesn't mean shiny. I am in the "overdipped" camp at this point. BUT! We await the professional in-hand evaluation. Please do get back with the results.

I wouldn't have sent it, except it has decent cart wheel. I read this quote on one of the seller's boards which I thought was funny, but seems to ring true. "Three coin dealers might agree on the grade of a coin if two of them were dead" LOL.

There is zero chance that I wont come back and finish the Saga lol.

As has been discussed many times in the Photography forum, showing color, details and luster in the SAME photo is VERY hard to do (some say impossible to do).

For the same reasons, IMHO it's also difficult to tell weakness of strike versus wear from a photo.

This is why it's SO hard to accurately grade a Mint State coin from photos.

Since you say the coin in hand has full luster, I'm guessing that it will be either a 63 or 64.

Something funny, the dealer I got it from says it is DMPL, I don't know about that, but it's got cart wheel. And you are correct, it's hard taking pics that you can judge MS coins on.

Made a post in the photo section, with my new cheap light box, and although it's miles ahead of this, it's still difficult.

Thanks for the input.
