Nobody talk about the mint product anymore?

Even Mario95 and Coin4Fun haven't list new products on their ebay store.

Saw the April releases in the post office catalog and there is nothing that stands out. No UFO coin.

New releases will be sent out next week for MC members.

Can't speak for everyone but my interest in RCM is almost zero. Only coins I bought recently were the MC 2019 Half Dollar. Same over priced NCLT junk.

Some very good designs so far for 2019 - March especially with lower mintage numbers - and fewer designs which is what many collectors called for no?
Looking forward to April release -

Just to also add - likely not in CP catalog but seen elsewhere - a gold pysanka coin coming in April - will be very high demand with Easter fast approaching.

The Gold Pysanka was in the March Post office Catalog.

High demand from rich people. No way I can afford $5000 for it.

Previously, we wanted more coins, than Mint can offer.
The way to get potentially hot coins without overpay - need to monitor and be aware in advance, or even buying multiple and reselling extra to have your coin "for free". Nowdays, for several years, there are too many coins. Some of them, no doubt, very interesting. But given a huge amount of releases, it not makes WoW any more.
For the 2019 my purchases were (except some nice bullion):
2019 Maple Leaves (Forever)
2019 Dome shaped coin from RAM

The coin is 1.88 oz. At today's rate, this would cost $3,444 so this represents a 1.45 multiplier over bullion. Personally, I don't find this unreasonable for NCLT premiums. The RCM typically charges a 5x and higher multiplier for Silver NCLT. At 1.5x or less it is not unreasonable to assume that over time, gold will appreciate and you will get your initial investment back albeit at a significant opportunity cost vs. a regular investment. Silver, it is unlikely that it will appreciate over 5x in current lifetimes and if it does... whew... I don't think I want to see that world economy.

As of today, the RCM is reporting 80% sold of a mintage of 250 so only 50 left when this goes to general sale this week. I expect a sell out however, and to @Moneypenny's point, the price is a barrier. At this price, I don't expect much in the way of appreciation... The best hope is that it's value is retained over time. Sort of like the Kilo gold coins for $60K-70K... Have to ask why? If you are investing/stacking gold (regardless of what you believe is the merit of PM stacking) NCLT premiums are anathema... but the RCM issue a couple each year with a mintage of 10 or so and seem to sell out.

At $5K though, you really have to love the coin, the concept and the execution... the Pysanka concept never worked for me and I have none in my collection.

Not sure why, but I just don't "jump for joy" over the monthly RCM release anymore. I remember years ago, I would watch the forums like a hawk... now, it's sad to say that I frequently go "months" without checking in here (sorry, guys & gals... it's not you!!).

Here are release notes:
1oz Platinum Maple Leaf Forever - $3099.95, can't justify spending this amount.

5oz Pure Gold Maple Leaves - $12,999.95. Nice, but I'll put my money where I can collect higher returns.

2oz Peter McKinnon Photo Series - $189.95. Meh...

Queen Elizabeth Rose w/ Selective Gold Plating - $54.95. Not sure what the relevance is here? Is this a one-off coin? Part of a new series? Nice, but not a must-have.

50 cent Special Wrap Roll - 24.95. Will order to keep series current.

75th Anniversary of D-Day Proof Set - $99.95. I must admit, I like this set... but I don't collect Proof Sets.

Gold Saphire Tiara - $6999.95 w/ 28 diamonds & 4 sapphires. Nope - not for me.

And that's all folks. Just not feeling it this month!

This month's release is one of them most uneventful RCM releases in recent memory. Remember at the same time last year we had the UFO coin release.

@vonigocher, Very expensive coins like the golden Pysanka and this month's Gold Tiara at $7000 and the 5 oz Gold Maple Leaves at $13,000 are targeted at a certain segment of the coin collecting community - collectors who have a lot of disposable income. These collectors are buying for the pleasure of owning the coin. They are not ooncerned with making money off them.

The average coin collector can't afford these expensive coins and the Mint recognize this by making ultra low mintages of them; like 99 or 250. No point in minting thousands of them when only those with lots of money can afford to buy them. The Mint is making only enough of them to be absorbed by the high end collector.

100% agree. I've always wanted a golden egg, especially in the form of a beautifully engraved pysanka.

I don't have a lot of disposable income, but I will after disposing of some unwanted collectables.

Looney4numis,
I hope for your sake that the collectables you are planning on selling to make some cash are not NCLTs.

@Redzapsid

I've already sold some NCLTs at a good profit, but most of them are from other mints.

I made a very small profit on a few RCM coins. Have to be quick with those before they drop in value.

In stock on RCM website. I really really like this coin and have my fingers and toes crossed that there will be a silver version.
