After visiting the original (pre-submission) topic about this coin, I have some concerns.

@PilcrowsCoins

Can you post current in-slab pics of the coin?

I agree with KenKat in that the overwhelming sentiment in the first thread was that getting the coin graded would be cost prohibitive for that specific issue, even in low MS.

machine20: I might get the slabs back today. My order just says shipped. Pretty bad they can't even give ya a tracking number. I'll post a pic of the order though.

spruett001: I was holding on to the coin in the case that it was sold in. But, since it was a gift and my dad almost passed away last year. I wanted to get it graded to show my dad, plus I been stacking silver and graded silver lately and my dads been enjoying seeing all the coins I been getting. I want to start grading a lot of my coins too, so, went ahead and started with this one. I sent in 3 others just to see what they'd say. They goofed on two of them.

I wanted the 76 checked for the DDO, I was contacted by PCGS asking if I wanted that service on the coin and I said yes. But they never checked or charged me for it. So not sure what went on there. Then the 40 I sent in, I wanted it checked for full steps/'38 reverse and it was never checked for that either. Hope the next submission does better. I'll be sending in 20-30 coins this week.

That's automatically looked at, it just wasn't either of those.

Here is the 1909. Right side of face is why it's saying its cleaned. Don't even notice it though until you turn on a light. :/

I like the stepping on the W on this. Didn't notice it before.

Here is the 64 I sent in. With it being older, I was hoping it would grade the 66 or 67. But I got a MS64. I seen other coins that where dinged up more with less luster (to my eyes) that graded higher. So I gave it a shot lol.

1964 MS66 RD $40,what did it cost you to have graded all in?
Now a MS67 is $1000. You should post pics here so we can give our opinions on those 30+ coins you want to send in. We may save you a ton of money. Just trying to help.

John1: I used my free voucher for becoming a member. But it cost me $46 dollars to ship them back to me.
It also cost me $50 to send them cause I insured them for a lot, just in case the 1909 got lost.
So for membership and shipping fees I spent about $250 lol. But now I'm a member with a magazine subscription, plus the 1909 is graded. So, I'm happy about it.
Learning experience. I was going to send in a 1977 S dcam nickle I came across instead of the 64. But I was looking over some of the nicer cents I came across and noticed on PCGS website, a 64 at MSRD67+ is $13,000.00 so I gambled.. Now I know I wouldn't get that kind of money if it graded that high. It was more of a curiosity to see if I am on the right track while coin searching boxes of pennies. I have others this nice, without all the damage on it. So it gave me an idea on those, that they'd at least grade 64 or higher.

On the bright side it sounds like you are using it as an educational experience and help refine your grading skills. In the long run that will be worth more than the fees paid

It would also be nice to stop saying "pennies" and give "nickels" their due.

Call me anal, sorry.

All of my PCGS failures I keep and often will look at for reference. I like the 1964 penny closeup. Really shows what they graded at MS64. I would have guessed an MS63.
