Looks like a modern copy of a 1787 shilling.
Real ones don't have modern-style rims.
It's worth whatever its melt value is.

Would that have been produced as a modern commemorative or fantasy piece? It would not pass even for one second as a 1787 shilling, so I don't think it is trying to fool anyone.

It's a modern copy. The only upside is if it's actually silver.

Hello and welcome. As others have stated, it is a modern copy. There is little if any collector demand for such objects, so the value will be minimal. Especially if you don't know what metal it is made of. It probably would have originally come with a certificate or some such from the replica-maker, stating its composition, but without that, or a jeweller's testing, we have to assume it's made of base-metal. More convincing-looking Chinese-made base-metal replicas of this coin are curently selling on the Forty Thieves website for less than $2.

Should also point out that selling replica coins of any kind in Canada is apparently illegal.

Might be a newer piece I haven't seen.
But the others that I have seen sell for $1.71, $3.00 and one a little different was $4.95
Those are selling prices. The piece itself might have an intrinsic value next to nothing.
Fine silver doesn't seem to be indicated.
