Metal detectors find them and they look just like that: If this were a dime on a cent planchet, that normally coun't happen as the cent planchet is too large to into the chamber of the dime setup. There are cases of mint assisted errors that show what it would look like with a dime struck on a cent planchet: Note how much space is beyond the rim. Just a normal dime that turned that color when it was found outside for a time. Not an error. Spendable. We see this very often. Check the weight you will see it is normal for a regular dime.
